About Your Session

Senior Portraits

Following are some helpful tips to ensure you have a great experience with your photo shoot. If you have any questions beyond these, feel free to shoot me a message here!

How to prepare?

Make sure you don’t wait until the last minute! This is a super important time in your life!

• Do some searches on Pinterest for inspiration
• Send me photos via FB, Pinterest or text so that we can nail down your style and look
• Let me know what some of your favorite locations are
• Get plenty of rest the night before
• Try on your outfits to ensure they fit correctly

What to wear?

You want your outfits to make you feel and look absolutely amazing, of course! But most of all, comfortable. Comfortable clothing that you love makes  for more natural pictures! Though I would recommend not wearing sweats!

Here are a few outfit ideas for you!

• Casual
• Dressy
• “This is me!” (Something that truly embodies who you are!)
• Uniform – Sport or activity of choice (if applicable)

“Say No” to the  following!

• Bright white doesn’t photograph well
• Shirts with logos or big pictures or prints
• Wild patterns distract from you
• Make sure outfits are free of wrinkles, stains, and rips/holes

What to bring?

• Your wonderful self!
• Your outfits on hangers to prevent wrinkles
• Extra hair supplies (just in case!)
• Water bottle
• Mirror for last minute glances/touchups
• And someone who makes you feel comfortable, such as a parent or a best friend.

The little details!

• Guys and girls, make sure you have fresh/clean nails!
• It’d be best not to try any new hairstyles the day before or day of your shoot. It’s suggested to give a new haircut at least a week before the photoshoot.
• Guys, make sure you’re shaved up, or bearded and ready to go!

Props to make sure your photos are unique with your own special touch!

• Hobby equipment, i.e. books, art supplies, soccer ball, football uniform, etc.
• Let me know if there are any other props that you would like to have in your photos!

I hope these tips have been helpful for you! If you haven’t already, reach out to schedule an appointment!
